Rehydrating Dried Mushrooms

  1. Soak mushrooms in warm water for 30 minutes
     

  2. Transfer hydrated mushrooms gently with a slotted spoon and place in colander
     

  3. Rinse wild mushrooms thoroughly to get rid of any remaining sand or particles
     

  4. Strain soaking liquid through a fine-mesh sieve or a coffee filter into a large glass measure cup

Tip:  We recommend cooking most wild mushrooms for at least 20 - 30 minutes

Rehydrating Dried Morels

  • Soak Morels overnight in salt water, rinse thoroughly before use

    or

  • Soak Morels in lukewarm water for 15 minutes - Drain then dip in boiling water for another 10 minutes - Place in colander and rinse thoroughly

Rehydrating Dried Chile Peppers

  1. Clean peppers and cut into squares or strips
     

  2. Place in a bowl and add boiling water
     

  3. Cover and set aside for about 30 minutes or until pliable
     

  4. Reserve liquid to flavor your dish ingredients
